in need of relief
tryin' to maintain discretion

She was steppin' the beat
with two left feet
trying to leave an impression

She said "Hey baby, I get your groove,
and i love your smile

I knew what the future held when I looked in her eyes


playin' the part
I was cool after dark
smellin' like bad attitude

right from the start
had her
eating out my heart
puttin her in a dancin mood

As we danced, she looked around and said
she might need a ride

I could see a painful past when I looked in her eyes



And so I asked
"What happened in your past
that makes you such a darkened soul?"

She said, "Not so fast
don't worry about the facts,
What makes you the enlightened fool?"

as we spoke, I told her my name
and said, "take a look inside"

she could see my painful past when I looked in her eyes

how could I
have been so impolite
to make such a requisition

She started to cry
and when I asked why
she said no one ever tried to listen

As I held her, she told me her name and asked,
"Do you wanna try?"

I could see a love inside when I looked in her eyes
